IE Challenge - Birthday Celebrations

Hi all! I have a really fun card to share with you that I created for Inspiration Emporium's July challenge. We're celebrating birthdays this month, and I jumped at the chance to use Karen Burniston's new Pop 'n Cuts Label Window die, which I paired with her new Ornate Square Card Base. I love the pretty edge on this card!

To decorate the spine, I folded my cardstock and placed in on the Edge portion of the Edge and Scroll die, moving it down so it wouldn't cut on the fold. The flourish was cut with the same die.

The Summer Florals strip die by Brenda Walton is another new die I was die-ing to use. :) How pretty is this flower? Very fun to mix and match all the different flower shapes that it cuts.

The front panel is decorated using the label from Karen's Butterflies and Labels Bigz die. I added glittered letters cut from light chipboard using Tim Holtz' Chip Block die. The sentiment is from Tim's Simple Sayings stamp set and was stamped on a little label from Karen's Flagpole and Lanterns strip die.

Here is the open view of the card. I love the motion of this card style!

I really wanted to add some kind of banner, but wasn't sure exactly how I wanted it to look. I spotted a butterfly that I'd cut using Karen's Butterflies and Labels die and was like - perfect! I used the smaller Movers and Shapers  Butterfly die on top of a glittered butterfly cut with the Bigz die. The wings are glued to a length of vintage rick rack. The flower in the center is the smallest from Brenda's Summer Florals die.

To decorate the other panel, I added another layered flower and more glittered letters. Fun!

Most of the supplies I used on my card can be found at Inspiration Emporium via the links below. Remember to use my coupon code - stamptramp - to save 10% on your order!

I hope you can join us over at the Inspiration Journal blog for our new challenge. There is a $50 gift certificate up for grabs - can't wait to see what you create!
